Hunt Construction Group, an AECOM company, enlists Multivista’s BIM Integration Program to improve its QA/QC workflows and provide a comprehensive facility management tool.

Multivista and Hunt Use BIM To Improve Workflows

Miami, Florida, August 4, 2015 – Multivista South Florida, the leading visual construction documentation company in Delray Beach, is working with Hunt Construction Group to unify its photo documentation with its project BIM model. Hunt Construction Group is overseeing many significant projects in South Florida and has expanded its service offerings with the help of Multivista’s newest technology integration. The integration links comprehensive project photo documentation directly with Autodesk® Revit®, Navisworks®, and BIM 360™ Glue/Field. Launched in April 2015, the Multivista-BIM Integration Program brings a client’s Multivista construction documentation to their BIM model for immediate comparison of actual versus modeled conditions.

“Photographic documentation helps us coordinate in real-time, and provides the owner with a record of what was installed for future operating needs,” said Pat Delano, General Manager South Florida for Hunt Construction Group. “By having the photos linked to the plans, we are able to locate a particular area or issue much faster, easier, and more efficiently, which benefits everyone involved.”

The use of BIM technology combined with accurate and complete construction photo documentation is widely recognized as a best practice in this industry. “Our decision to engage Multivista’s BIM Integration Program has proven to be both rewarding and paramount to the success of our QA/QC processes,” said Kyle Goebel, Assoc. DBIA, Virtual Construction Engineer for Hunt. “Using BIM 360™ Glue, we are able to coordinate and access our Multivista® photo documentation directly from the cloud-based BIM model. The ability to review the existing conditions and progression photo documentation from the BIM model during coordination meetings is a significant benefit for us. In addition, by allowing us to review the photos from the model, the project team is saving countless hours of physically walking the site to verify conditions.”

“Construction and facility management professionals are continuously looking for tools that will streamline the flow of building information. By having their Multivista® photographic documentation linked directly to their BIM model, it is now that much easier to validate what’s actually constructed versus what was modelled,” said Graham Twigg, Multivista’s Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer. “We developed this program collaboratively with a number of our clients who are heavily invested in BIM workflows. The Hunt/AECOM team has extensive virtual construction expertise in-house and we were able to work closely with their BIM engineers to ensure that our integration approach fit with their established workflows for Autodesk® Revit®, Navisworks®, and BIM 360™ Glue/Field software,” continued Twigg.
